Love and Tolerate: Let's prove we can

There's a comic somewhere saying that some bronies spend more time praising themselves for loving and tolerating than the time they spend actually doing it.
And that's partially true.

However, there's still a large amount that are very respectful toward the community. So I created this topic 2 days before Christmas to present everypony with a challenge: Do as many helpful things as you can before the end of the year!
Every time you do a good deed, post what you did here. If you can, provide photographic evidence as well so I know you aren't lying (Even though it's not likely you would do that; especially when Applejack's watching).
This will be a competition. Every good deed earns you a point. If you save someone's life (You must provide evidence), you'll get 10 points. I recommend you do something to show you're a brony while doing it too.
Whoever has the most points by 2013 will win! The prize is knowing that you've helped all these people without expecting anything in return. Trust me, that is a very good feeling.
However, that doesn't mean we'll stop there. This competition will keep going after the winner is announced, and it will be more of a neverending race.

Now, let's get out there and show we care!

Re: Love and Tolerate: Let's prove we can

on one hand, I really wanna prove something. Opportunties don't fall out of the sky, but I wanna help.
I've done a lot of  things, such as help somepony who is now pretty much my only friend, and stuck up for her against a bully, and other things with my other (minor) friends. But all this stuff has happened BEFORE! D:
I promise, though, this doesn't mean I'll turn the other cheek. I'll promise that I will make sure to help out as much as I can. But I'm so LAZY! I barely get off my butt, and spend most of my time inside. But like I said earlier, I flat-out Promise-- no, PINKIE promise---that I will try to make a difference. You can count on this brony.
:o : He Pinkie promised!
:facehoof: : Was that ALL you got out of it?
P.S.: There was a typo that originally made "flat-out" say "fat-out" turning my heartwarming message into a joke.

I'm glad you're willing to help. Even though deeds done before this competition began don't count, I'm sure you can find something to do. :)

I'll still give you a point for that, but I recommend you do good deeds for people you don't know.

Re: Love and Tolerate: Let's prove we can

I can't really do anything at all--I have the flu.

"A regular Friday audience, 90 percent feminine and 100 percent well-bred, sat stoically yesterday through thirty minutes of the most cacophonous world premiere ever heard here - the first performance anywhere of a new Violin Concerto by Arnold Schoenberg. Yesterday's piece combines the best sound effects of a hen yard at feeding time, a brisk morning in Chinatown and practice hour at a busy music conservatory. The effect on the vast majority of hearers is that of a lecture on the fourth dimension delivered in Chinese." -An anonymous Philadelphia Record reviewer, on Schoenberg's Op. 36 Violin Concerto.

"I am delighted to add another unplayable work to the repertoire." -Arnold Schoenberg, on his Op. 36 Violin Concerto.

Re: Love and Tolerate: Let's prove we can

i guess volunteering at the animal shelter and nursing home saves lives? i don't know what kind of proof you want, i've got patient confidentiality papers signed with the nursing home but i could photocopy my volunteer manual? dunno what kind of proof i can give for the animal shelter either, i'm done with earning my community service hours so i don't have to keep a log anymore.

but if 1 life saved counts for 10 points i'd easily have over a hundred

i don't know why i'd need to prove to cats and dogs or seniors who don't know what my little pony is that i watch it, so if that actually matters then minus cred for me, huh?

The points aren't the motivation; it's the feeling from doing good things that really counts in the end.
The points are more of a way to keep track of how much each participant has done; not how much better they are than everypony else.

You should get rid of the competition part, since if the reward is the feeling of helping out, there can actually be no losers out of whoever participates.

This Actually Makes A Lot Of Sense. Why Not Just Get Rid Of The Points System And Just Have A Thread Where You Talk About Good Things You've Done?

it'd have less incentive for people doing good deeds but would they really be good deeds if they were done for the competition? probably not

No winner; All scores are either 0 or 1.

But this isn't really much of a competition anyway. It's just a big participation thingy.
No, I don't need to be told that I referred to this as a competition earlier.

It wasn't much of a competition anyway. Besides, you used the word "Neverending", so will there ever truly be a winner?
