It doesn't have to be the main theme song. It can be a character theme, or stage theme, or whatever. Rate out of ten.
"PSI-missing," the first theme song of A Certain Magical Index.
8.9/10 Wow, that sounds excellent. Even if I can't understand the lyrics it's got a really nice beat. If there's a version of that without lyrics I'd love to use that in a project somewhere.
I'm just going to use the obvious one:
If you don't know what show this theme song is for, then why are you here?
9/10. It's catchy, has cool guitar, and deviates from G1. Thank goodness.
Should I say this is a stage theme from SSBB or the theme from Fire Emblem? :P
Congrats on almost 2013 posts, SFC.

9/10 Good very good and emotional.
(I don't know how to put youtube videos in my posts)

10/10. Fast, but consistent. Has a nice danmaku-fitting tune.
By the way, it's .
A stage theme from SSBB, based off the theme of Balloon Ride (?).
6/10 I prefer the original. (And the game the theme is originally from is actually called Balloon Fight.)
Trust me. I think one of the only reasons, and if not then still the main reason this song was even made, was for Guitar Hero 6.
This has been stuck in my head all day:

I've never actually played the game this is from, but I am going to use this theme as the theme for the final postgame boss of The Adventure, a danmaku game that SFC, Naf, Splat and I are working on. It's that cool.
Edit: I watched the boss fight for this theme. Cats? Ok...

8/10 Meh. It's OK, I guess. Maybe if the organ in the beginning didn't sound so fake I would like it more.
And then there's too much of it.
Welcome to The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
"Bouken Desho Desho (It's an Adventure, Right? Right?)"
Performed by Aya Hirano, the voice actor for Haruhi Suzumiya herself!
8/10. I dunno, I love the song, but it just didn't catch on when I first heard it. :\
6/10 8/10 5/10
Thought it was OK, then the drums, so it was good, then it sounded... WAY too upbeat for how it began.
Just because it wasn't used in the game doesn't mean it wasn't made for the game. It still counts.
Edit: Forgot the Youtube tags.

It's very nice. 8/10.
Hit the 8 key twice, but apparently with not enough pressure. Could have gotten a /10.
I have to say I 'wub' this song.
WARNING: If you're going to the YouTube page, do NOT look in the comments. There are massive X and Y spoilers.
Edit: Stupid safesearch. Prevented the YouTube tag from working.

7/10, the lyrics kind of killed it for me though.
Here it is. The theme to the first stage of what may very well be the hardest NES game in existence.
Only ever fought this boss once, and let me tell you: The theme definitely fits to the difficulty.
Him sir you is are an am genius. 10/Blue
I've only faced Remilia Scarlet ONCE, and I probably won't face her again for a long while. I had NO continues left, and I was on my last life. Shouldn't be hard to guess what happened.
Finally found something worthy of you ponies' ears. XD
It's the opening theme to Neon Genesis Evangelion, an anime I don't like. Except for the music, which is awesome. (This is, obviously, an a capella version, but I hope it still counts by you guys' standards. XD)

7/10, not the best I've heard, but still pretty good.
This is Flandre's theme from the fangame "Fantastic Danmaku Festival", which is pretty much EoSD in terms of boss order, except Rumia and Patchoulli get replaced. (Patchoulli is a playable character though.) Anyway, this is actually a remix of Flandre's theme from EoSD, technically, and I think it sounds awesome.
That's my kind of boss theme. 9/10.
Why do two of the songs I posted no longer exist?
If you do not believe in Jun Senoune's skill, perhaps this will convince you otherwise. :P Theme song of Metal Harbor from SA2.
